The Uyghurs and China's Engagement in the Middle East
I was wondering very speculatively whether this could be an opportunity for Muslim countries to put pressure on China if China wants to play the role of brokering diplomatic deals. Unfortunately, I think neither the Iranians nor the Saudis give a ratsass about the Uyghurs. Maybe in some purely sort of emotive at an emotive level, there's this sense of interim Muslim solidarity but the principle that China's participation represents in the Middle East is this principle of strict West Valley and non-interference and internal affairs. That's both of those two countries and everyone else in the region is tired of the United States telling them how to run their country.
