The End of Witch Trials in America

In the spring of 1662, Connecticut's witch hunting reached a peak with a Hartford, Hartford, witch panic. This ultimately resulted in 12 people being accused of witchcraft and four people being executed. The end of the witch trials in 1693 came with numerous criticisms of how the cases had been handled. Marginalized women and enslaved Africans remained the most common targets of later witch hunts.
