Can China Succeed in COVID?
The idea that China is more effective at managerial governance than leading democracies has been severely dented. The combination of these three years of zero COVID plus total mismanagement have led to a much more aggressive diplomacy, which I don't even think Xi Jinping is necessarily so in favor of. And then also just the increasing use of economic coercion against a range of countries has alienated a lot of states. So it's an open question, but I think China has proven adaptable in so many other challenges over the last 30 years.
