Nassau is in the process of its launche an experiment to see if they can boop an asteroid. It's called the double asteroid redirection test dart. The idea is, like the spaceship would slam into the asteroid and just the force of that slammings. So t they chose an asteroid that's actually, it's close enough to earth where we can observe what happens when the space craft hits into it.

Scientists are constantly searching for asteroids that could crash into Earth. But if they find one, will they be able to do anything about it? NASA has launched a spaceship that will slam into an asteroid to find out.
