The Greeks endowed Poseidon with a violent and unpredictable nature of the sea itself. In fact, one can mark this surely nature of Poseidon in all of his myths and in artistic depictions. The Sea God pursued one certain giant, Polybotes, as far as the Aegean Sea and the island of Caus. There he tore off a huge piece of the island and threw it on top of the giant himself, crushing him.
