Is There a Loss of Trust in Science?
The only group that actually is up there with scientists and also the only other group that hasn't really declined sharply in terms of trust is the military, which varies over time but recent years has been high. Even people taking positions that I consider anathema anti-vaxxers, climate deniers, they ground what they say in their view of what sciences they don't usually say the science doesn't matter. And even more I think it's part of a much more general shift in society about questioning expertise,. Not deferring to experts, everybody having their own opinion.
