Doone Movies - Is There Another Category of Doone Fans?

A strange trend we've sort of noticed so far is that this seems to be the inverse of a lot of movie adapt ons of books. Most of the peoplee talked to about it are peoplew ho had read it and they liked it. However, my wife never read the book, but she was mean of quite familiar from growing up watching the the lynch version,. So i wonder if there isn't yet another category of doone fan, where maybe they haven't read it, but they're familiar enough with the story through pop culture and through the previous adaptations. They know what te some of the main technologies and themes are.
