Gail Emacs: A Scheme Implementation
Gail is a scheme implementation that is part of the GNU project. The question has often come up with Emacs use it as its scripting language. There are really just a lot of performance issues to be resolved in that support. It would be nice to see, but I do not know how long it will take though.
