Portinoy and Folle's Article on the Addiction Rate of Opioids
Researchers are working off data from the 19 twenties, which they took from patients in drug treatment programmes. Their article argues that the risk of opioid addiction is low among people without past history of a diction. They submit it to a medical journal called paine. Not long after, they receive a letter informing them that their paper has been rejected. The editor argues that the studies they cite as evidence are too small and not scientifically rigorous enough.
