Is There a Consensus on Measures of Inequality?

To test these theoretical ideas, we do need to define and we need to measure inequality. Is there a consensus in the empirical research on this, on what measures of inequality are most useful? I would say there is an emerging consensus. But of course, te chenis only one measure, because for many questions, it matters lot.
