Movie Sequels and Aggression to the Mean

Hollywood sequels are potentially a great example of aggression to the mean. Hollywood sequels are only made if the original film is a quote unquote, high quality success. Average quality of sequels will be closer to the mean than average quality of originals of sequels because of regression to themean. So sequels tend to be of lower quality than the original.
