Young's master thesis is the scenario of individuation. Individuation consists of a few different steps that require personal experience and informational synthesis. Those steps are assimilating the shadow, meeting the anima or the animus, meeting the wise man archetype, and then transcending your former self. And again, this is very similar to the path laid out by these ancient mystery traditions.
