They drew these arguments heavily on discrimination against gay men. The free speech coalition was founded as a California trade association for the adult entertainment industry. In 2001, they filed a lawsuit against the attorney general, John Ashcroft, which sought to decriminalize the depiction of minors in sexually explicit content.
