Labor Day originally wasn't just meant to be a celebration But a way to bring attention to the fact that many workers were forced to work stupid ridiculous hours. The average manufacturing worker was routinely putting in 60 hour weeks in those days and shortly before like a decade or so before it was 70 hour weeks Worth the norm.
