The Ways of Life in the Pacific Northwest

Caribou hunters used wooden corrals and artificial drive lanes to push the animals in the right direction. Apart from the west along the Pacific coast, people were fishing for salmon and hunting marine mammals like seals. The famous Kenawick Man was buried well inland along the Columbia River 9300 years ago. Only later in life did he move inland, maybe after being attacked and stuck with a stone projectile point that remained lodged in his hip for the rest of his life.
