Episode CXXVIII - Cornelia, Mother of the Gracchi (Gracchi I)
Emperors of Rome
Cornelia of the Gracce
Hanes: cornelia africana gracorum is a strange way of talking about a roman woman. Her fame that she gets through her children is quite counter to the way romans normally think, which is comes from the father. She sort of gets this epithet from her sons. It's not from her husband, cause it's plural, o gracce, not of gracchus. Sometimes women, not often, but sometimes, they are wife of, but much more normally, their daughter of. That gives her a very special status.
