Is the Brain a Bayesian Engine?
The brain as a Bayesian engine is kind of an ideal to look at, but in reality, you don't need to find empirical evidence. I haven't seen a single case where predictive processing approaches can explain anything better than alternative, more neurologically realistic things like the semantic pointer hypothesis. That's much closer to how the brain actually works.
