The Importance of Eliza Hamilton
Hamilton's relationship with Washington proved to be a stabilizing force, at least in public life. In hindsight, Hamilton's most productive and least self-destructive work came when he was most proximate to Washington. Eliza believed in Christian instruction for their eight children; it would prove to have effects on her husband as they raise him together. And in the end, may have won him with her life and conduct.
