The book takes place in an office that has Slack as a- As a tool. Workplace communication tool, but still has an office where people go in and physically see each other. All of this stuff seems like what Kuzuki added to, hey, I saw a tweet about wouldn't it be funny if a book was Slack. And the only reason they have that stuff to talk about in Slack is because they can like see each other sometimes or like not see each other as it could be.

Several People Are Typing was mostly written pre-pandemic but failed to garner publisher interest until a virus locked us all inside our homes with nothing to turn to but our jobs and our friend-Slacks. It manages to perfectly encapsulate what it feels like to use Slack for anything, with a dash of creepypasta for good measure.
