Jefferson's View of the American People

Jefferson has a long held view of the exceptionalism of the Americans that they are better than other people. And Adams never buys into that. He thinks that there is no special providence for Americans and their nature is the same with that of others. But he really picks Americans to themselves in a pretty harsh light, which of course doesn't win him many fans,.
