The Cost of Food in the Edewalk County Jail

The food served to inmates at Edewalk County Jail was sourced from local churches and nonprofits who were happy to hand over their expired inventories. The Southern Center for Human Rights has filed a lawsuit against 49 sheriffs asking to know how much they're profiting from excess food money. A former inmate said, "As someone who's been in there seeing the corners he's cutting and everything, it all comes down to greed"
