Bob Greene: Stock buybacks used to be considered market manipulation. He says corporations are clearly only beholden to their shareholders. The people who run the larger corporations hire economists and accountants like me, he says. Greene: As long as we allow a tiny group of people, a board of directors, you know, 15, 20 human beings sitting at the top of these mega corporations, you can't be surprised if they use it to enrich themselves.
