Lauren Frank was a postdoc in Krishna Anderson's lab at UCSF. He and Anderson were working on prosthetic brain implants for the chronically ill. The two of them had read several papers with Emery Brown about decoding as Lauren Frank, right? Yeah. And so they decided to team up; it ended up being an awesome time.
