Private equity has benefited from a long era now of very low interest rates. Now we have higher interest rates, high inflation and more deo political concerns. Companies are thinking much more differently about how they want to organize their operations. There is a place where private equity seems to be finding safety and opportunity in japan.

Three decades of globalisation risks are going into reverse, according to company executives and investors as world leaders meet in Davos for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began, and Toshiba set a deadline of May 30 for additional bidders in what could be Japan’s largest private equity deal.
