Is there such a thing as human agency? Are we responsible for the things that we do? Well, we certainly have a degree of agency. Subjectively, we have it unless you're, you know, you have certain types of clinical pathology. But the question is, are we really as free as we think we are? And there the clear answer is no. We're not nearly as free as I think we are. It starts in simple ways: somebody so busy might want to lose weight but can't.
