The Crusade and the Miracle of the Ire
In the years directly following the conquest of jerusalem, pilgrims started to be targeted specifically because they were christian. Clerics in the aslamic world were actively calling on moslems to attack christian invaders and unarmed pilgrims were now seen as part of the problem. One particular group of over 300 pilgrims, most of whom were german, made it to jer Jerusalem in time for easter in 11 19 a d. This group visited the church of the holy sepulchre and also witnessed something known as the miracle of the ire. To this very day, a flame is said to spontaneously start emanating from christ's tomb every year during easter.
