The Role of Apathy in Adolescence
You have to know what their commodities are and you need to stick to them. Also kids use apathy as a defense. Like I don't care about dating anymore. And so some high school junior may feel jilted over a girlfriend or a boyfriend that they've had for a little while. So apathy at that juncture is not a way to heal the suffering, but it does defend against becoming enamored again.
