How to Become a UX Design Superhero

Don't just do the work you're given. Do the work you want to do, and if you're not given that work, consider just doing it as a side project. If we have web designers who want to get into mobile, nobody's going to give them a mobile project until they show their chops. Get outside your comfort zone, talk to people. The only way to get good is to show your work and get feedback and be criticized.
