The Effects of Nicotine on the Immune System

Nicotine actually has what we call an anti inflammatory um response in the immune system, which isn't always a good thing. It can decrease production of specific cell types that are needed to help make anna bodies - not bee cells themselves, but other cells that are involved. nicotine also decreases the proliferation of a particular subset of blood immune cells that are required to help maintain our immune system. And it reduces the secretion of sitakinds, which are very important signalling proteins that immune cells secrete.
