The Role of the Thalamus in Concussions
We looked at a specific part of the brain that's quite susceptible to injury called the thalamus. They're roughly the size of two quails eggs and they're sitting, give a take, a millimeter at the top of our spinal cord. Now we see no damage on the structural scans we mentioned earlier. So we decided to see whether to ask the question whether thispart of the brain coordinate differently with other parts of the brain. The information, the exchange with otherparts of the brain and the rate that they've changed, it changes.
