
DOJ urges Supreme Court to stay out of documents fight

DOJ's Response to the DOJ Emergency Petition
The Justice Department says the 11th Circuit had full authority to block these documents since they're extremely sensitive government records that implicate national security. They say Trump hasn't been harmed at all by the court blocking these records, so there's really no basis for the Supreme Court to step in at this point. The archives put out a statement reading in part, quote, reports that indicate or imply that those presidential records were in the possession of former presidents or the representatives after they left office are false and misleading.
