The Inlaid Gold Sword
In the purse there was a large collection of gold coins, all of them frankish. Each coin had been struck in a different mint somewhere in the frankish empire. A sword with jewelled handle and pommel is elaborately inlaid with garnets and other precious stones. The last object to be recognized is probably the most famous and iconic. Archaeologists found scattered pieces of a helmet made of iron and tin. Other objects that were in various states of decay include shoes, pillows and cushions.
