Jung and Paoli's body of work is a little different. Jung was publishing many things over the decades, you see a clear evolution of his ideas. For instance, the notion of archetypes crucially changed several times in Jung's writings. And this can all be seen in his publications and his works. In the sciences, you don't do that. You don't give your reader a sense of the history and all the convoluted pathways through which you came to the final result. This is almost like micro surgically cut off from what you publish. It's a very strange thing, but this is really how it is.
