Is There Ever a Generation as Distracted as Ours?

Has there ever been a generation as disconnected from creation as ours? In ages past, people worked with the creation. We don't have that same amount of time to just think. And i think, in part, could account for the godlessness of our age and even the impiety among christians about how we just don't think about god much or live before him.
