The Battle of Galgamela - The Last Battle of the Persian Empire

Alexander the great defeated darius the third at the battle of galgamela. Darius is now fleeing east to cross the zagris mountains and reach one of the persian centres of administration, ecbetana. But alexander doesn't pursue him straightway because he needs to fulfil one of the most important tasks of a hellenic commander - burying the dead. He wants to take control of the main administrative centres of the Persian empire west of the zagros mountains. The first of which was the rich historic city of babylon.
