A Brief History of Neolithic Farming in Central Europe
The Neolithic farming frontier was stuck for about 500 years along the Danube River corridor. Below this rough line, stretching from eastern Austria to the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, a series of distinct and related Neolithic cultures developed. A different way of life began to develop in what's now eastern Austria and western Hungary. The people of this culture broke with the equally long-standing patterns of their predecessors.
