The Importance of Control

Sometimes the talk in churches as if I can. And sometimes I wish for that. One of the characteristics of our modern age is that people want to be able to have control and just plug and play and get what they want at any given moment. There's a there's a philosopher Ian Thompson almost positive he's not a person of faith. He says look if I decide that something matters solely because I decide that it matters then I can also at anyGiven Moment decide that it no longer matters. So right now a lot of people say oh yeah you've got to go find meaning but on another level the most meaningful moments come to us when we least expect them.
