The Committee of Public Safety

After the election of july tenth removed moderate voices from the committee, a series of supplemental appointments over the next few months brought the total number of committee members up to 12. And it was these 12 men who would turn the committee of public safety into the engine of terror that continues to haunt the western imagination. Each of the 12 is interesting and important in his way. But by the time i got to guy number 12, you wouldn't be able to remember who guy number one was. So what i'll do right now is hilight a few of the really important members, and then introduce the others as they enter and exit the stage.
