Black culture has always paid attention to westerns. Cowboys was somd for black people and mexicans. And them, honeywood, they tok it right back. It wasn't even the old west. Not one person lived in the oldwest. Hit was the new west. There was nothing old about it. A huge part of that was a people of colour, and black people in particular. Hollywood gave us a reatly narrow viewpoint of what that experience was about. They made women subservient and people of color treat less than human. So we never got to learn that so much later. We can hear all these points of intersection in the music of the bullets
