The freedom to vote act and the john lewis voting rights advancement act are under consideration in congress. The bill would essentially restore a law that was struck down by the supreme court nearly 50 years ago. A separate, but largely different, election reform topic is also under consideration - reforming the electoral count act. Some republicans like senate minority leader mitch mc connell have said they are interested in reforming theelectoral count e. But democrats are sceptical that they will actually come through for this.
