Feminism in the Eighties
The second wave of feminism was born in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The movement won some great victories, like 19 73 rove wade which gave women the right to an abortion ever us. But by the time rebecca was hanging out at miss magazine in the late eighties, feminism had hit a rough patch. By putting those woman's unease into words, betty fridan started a revolution. Her newly galvanized readers began demanding equal rights.
