The Difference Between Stoicism and the Attitude Common in Christians Today
Men prefer, I think, a challenge. They like to be given something hard to do, summon to mission and action. Men would respond better to Dr. Sacks' work on how men and women are very different in the way they respond to things. Be harder, not softer. Be more demanding, not less demanding. Go against the instinct that says, oh God, you know, to get the kids, or get the young high school kids, we got to really bend over. And then give them a moral and spiritual challenge.
