The Process of Getting a California DMV Permit

Zuc's self-certified its first robo taxi, June 30th of 2022. To get the California DMV permit that you now have, you need to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards or get an exemption from them. So I'm curious Zuc's elected to self-certify versus going the exemption route. Why that path and not the other? Yeah. We go through the same process as anybody else.
