Is There Any Overarching Theory in Neuroscience?
Neuroscientists have produced very reductionist models to work on a small part of the system in isolation. In finance you can't even really do experiments like that, so you're sort of left with this more inductive approach. You just try to get lots and lots of data and try to learn the patterns and the data. I kind of feel like I got into neuroscience just as sort of machine learning was starting to make its way into neuroscience. And now I've gotten the finance just as machinelearning was starting to move into finance. So it's been kind of exciting to see it happen in both fields.
