For apparently a three month period, Stowe received $10,000 in royalties. Martin Delaney, another famous black abolitionist was not a fan of what she was doing. Frederick Douglass's book sells 30,000 copies in the first year. But when you think about how much more could have been sold and the money that's being made, it's not great.
