When it's some with a singular like this it becomes uncountable. Cake is another good example for this. Some and singular can actually mean a piece of something. This is probably my favorite I think. So a kind of way to show that you don't care about something or you think it's not important. Let's look at an example: Who was Cassie just talking to? Oh I don't know. A guy. She wasn't talking to his leg but it means some guy. It means who cares? I don't want to know.
