Introduction
The horse is not indigenous to the subcontinent, but migrated into India along with a people who called themselves the Aryans. With the Aryans and their horses came the Indo-European language that would develop into Sanskrit as well as religious beliefs in the Vedas. Janardin Ganari and Peter Adamson talk about how animals have played a surprisingly prominent role in the history of philosophy.
