What's Happening in the Interpretation Box?
There's a whole host of assumptions most of us run around having no idea we're even making about the other people when we're perceiving them. It's an assumption that we all make about one another, called the false uniqueness effect. False consensus is when we tend to assume that other people share our opinions. There's always a chance that stereotypes can influence how people see you, even when they don't believe those stereotypes are true.
