The biggest barrier that I've seen facing young people as they begin this career journey is a reluctance to put themselves out there. There's, especially the first couple of times you do it, there's a high chance you're going to get rejected. You have to develop a sense of humor around people saying no to you. Sometimes it's OK to just pick their brain and learn from them,. Add them to your network and ask them, hey, you know, I'm interested in this. If there isn't an opportunity where you're doing it, do you have any colleagues in the industry that you might be able to introduce me to?
