Growth Is the Ideology of the Cancer Cell
Growth was seen as a panacea for any kind of macroeconomic and up. It's like it's self referential: Don't worry, I'll solve it. But nothing in nature tries to grow forever or indeed if it is, as you just said, it becomes a cancer cell. We're disrupting the life support systems that underpin our well-being. The trouble is that we've created this escalator system which will always go up.
